Welcome! This is where I'll put my personal projects that will (hopefully) dazzle you and provide you with hours of fun! I'm doing these for my own benefit. How do these benefit me, you may ask? Simple: 1) they're fun to make, and 2) they're good practice for what I want to do in the future. Not to mention that perhaps a potential future employer (perhaps you?) might hopefully stumble upon this and decide that I might actually be worth something!
MegaClick: Challenging and addictive card games... they're fun! The people who played it literally over a thousand times in the Pseudopod public computer facility thought so, too. DOS and enhanced Windows versions are available. Try MegaClick-6 now!
DUEL: Shadow of the Darksiders Ver.C: In 1995 I created one of the first games I was actually really proud of. Over eight years later, the third and final version is complete, and for the first time, the world can get a look at it. For DOS (will run under Windows NT/2000/XP)
Nibbles2: A revival of an old classic. Although if you just look at it, it looks as if it might itself be a really old classic =) For DOS (will run under Windows).
I will present these in the order I plan to finish them.
PlainEnglish (25% complete): Not a game at all. In fact, there's not much out there -- especially on the current market -- that's quite like it. Look for more soon...
Blackjack Sim (preliminary, sort of): The MegaClick engine will be used as a base to create what I hope to be the most advanced Blackjack sim ever created. This will actually probably take me less time than MegaClick itself did =)
Nibbles 3d (preliminary): The follow-up to Nibbles2. I'm going to consider this pretty ambitious. What I plan to have is a full-screen, 60-frames-per-second version of Nibbles featuring vivid and attractive (albeit simple) 3-D graphics. There will be at least six courses spanning 60 stages, each with 3 distinctly different difficulty levels. In addition to this, there are features that I will consider adding, depending on the difficulty and time I'm willing to allot (extra/hidden levels, cheat codes, 2-player simultaneous co-op and competitive play, survival mode, level editor, techno soundtrack composed by ME, gamepad support, Internet ranking, perhaps more?). My sweetie got me a Direct3D book, and fairly soon, I hope to get started!
Top Secret Project (cancelled): As you can tell by looking at my Wolf3D page, the only projects I'll let myself cancel are the ones I haven't begun yet. I want to spend all of my development time for a long period on Nibbles 3d, and I think this idea's a bit too ambitious for myself. I'll at least tell you what it was: an arcade-style real-time strategy game. There would be very little emphasis on development, building and raising, and much emphasis on using a supplied force of buildings, units etc. and accomplishing a specific goal with it in a certain amount of time (probably about 5 minutes, 10 minutes tops). Heavy emphasis on multiplayer, too... the game would be built mostly for multi. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but if you want to take it and give it a shot--whether you're just one person or a big development house--go right ahead. I'd love to see how it comes out. Good luck!
